A faded melding of the two,

an altogether different hue?

Will it carve you open like a knife,

and make a widow of your wife?

An unexpected end to life,

one more falls, to the reaper's scythe.

Or will what comes be quite a treat,

to make you feel light on your feet

something that makes life feel so sweet,

a cooling balm to life's harsh heat?
