I think nonsense dominates the world because it is like entropy.

Entropy happens for probabilistic reasons. There are countless ways to be disordered and very few ways to be ordered. The Universe started in an extraordinarily low state of disorder, and will, for purely probabilistic reasons, grow increasingly disordered until it reaches maximum disorder/entropy: the heat death of the Universe, a state of maximum entropy where nothing happens, and keeps not happening, forever. This is the second Law of Thermodynamics. It takes nonstop effort/energy to fight entropy; our sun supplies ours.

Like order and disorder, there are far fewer truths than falsehoods, and it takes energy to hold firm against the untruths: lies, unsustainable practices, flawed ideologies, delusions - in short, nonsense.

For a complex system to survive, it must balance on the knife-edge of truth and avoid the infinite number of nonsense pitfalls that lead to ruin. It's simply both too taxing and too improbable, and this is why nothing good and true and sustainable can last forever. Truth is constrained; error is unconstrained. Truth ultimately succumbs to the overwhelming amount of nonsense.

On a side note, when talking to people, one may consider how much energy they have spent organising their thoughts - how much have they struggled against all the nonsense? How much do they reflect and self-reflect? How much do they seek learning and deeper understanding? How much time and energy have they spent doing it? How smart are they, how far did they get?

Wisdom is earned via sustained engagement with reality. But it comes with a cost: the Curse of Awareness.
