Joseph Tey has pledged to bring Sampdoria back to where many feel they belong after becoming majority shareholder in the club.
The Singaporean now takes full control of the Serie B outfit after the departure of Matteo Manfredi at the end of April.
Manfredi had been involved with Samp since the summer of 2023, when he helped take the club over from the loathed Massimo Ferrero with the aid of former Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani.
Tey then became a minority partner in 2023, later followed by majority shareholder and now solely owns the club. Tey, in his 50s, has released a statement outlining his vision for the club.
"I would like to thank the UC Sampdoria fans for the passion, loyalty and trust they have continued to demonstrate and place in the club. The statement read.
“Especially during the most difficult times. Your constant support perfectly embodies the Blucerchiati soul and gives meaning to everything we do. I reiterate my full commitment to Sampdoria and all its fans," the letter reads.
"We want to be an active and a leading player in the redevelopment of the Luigi Ferraris Stadium, already underway, helping to create a stadium that reflects Sampdoria's prestige and offers our fans the experience they deserve, supporting and experiencing their team even more intensely,” he added.
Sampdoria, along with Genoa, are in the process of restyling the Marassi, with the renovation projected to cost around €100m, supplied by both clubs.
