Pissed off Josh Allen on the sideline is a sight we NEVER see. That scene means… something. Bare minimum, represents exactly where Buffalo’s at right now.
Offensive line was completely punked by a superior front. Embarrassing considering the Bills have spent so much time building up a roster they believe can throw the heavy punches. Front 5 stayed healthy all last season. Goes to show what one injury can do. Spencer Brown tried gutting through a shoulder injury and it was ugly. Dion Dawkins was also pushed around.
Allen struggled. Looked like he had Dawson Knox on the final play. He’s got to be able to see it, hit it. Bills easily could’ve stole this game.
Joe Brady called a spectacular game against Tampa Bay. This… was obviously a step back. All of those “mesh” concepts, as Nate Tice pointed out, became so predictable on third downs. But I don’t know, man. Blaming the OC seems like a broken record around here. Been there, done that, somewhere Ken Dorsey is nodding. We know the head coach’s fingerprints are all over this offense. Let’s stop acting like the head coach is an innocent bystander as it pertains to this offense devolving into something much, much different than the unit that used to go scorched earth on everybody.
That being said, a defensive-minded head coach SHOULD produce more than zero sacks and zero turnovers vs. a backup quarterback. Sure, the Texans only managed a field goal after halftime. Davis Mills also looked like Joe Montana spotting John Candy in the crowd the drive right before halftime. Injuries or not, the Bills should’ve feasted on defense. All alleged defensive savants should eat the Davis Mills of the world for breakfast and puke ‘em out. Instead? Blah.
Keon Coleman missing another game as a healthy scratch is embarrassing. For all parties involved.
So much for Tyrell Shavers O’Clock. He wasn’t even targeted in this game.
Will Anderson Jr. is a freakin’ killer. Finished with 2.5 sacks and another piledrive of an Allen takedown that had made the QB go numb briefly. Loved getting to know the Texans end ahead of the ‘24 season: golongtd.com/p/all-game…
Where do the Bills go from here? Well, it doesn’t get any easier: at Pittsburgh (Tomlin’s D playing better), Cincinnati (Burrow back) and at New England.
There’s still a lot of season left.
But injuries are piling up and all good vibes cultivated last week seem to have evaporated in Houston.
