I love the idea of being your own best friend.
I have read about adjusting your self-talk to third-person*, as this helps you be more compassionate than critical, but you take it an extra step. I like it.
*Rather than, "I really messed that up. I can't do this." I would say, "You missed the mark on that one, Steve, but at least you learned what doesn't work. So how will you change your approach?"
