I started that first blog. I wrote personal essays about how I was feeling, I doled out (often very cringe) advice. I rounded up the best free or cheap stuff to do around the city, and until I got a job, I was on the verge of creating a networking group for the recently let-go. It would take years, but I’d later realize that getting laid off was one of the best things that ever happened to me.
