I’ve never properly introduced myself, so hold onto your hats!

Back to Shameless began during Canada’s bottomless COVID lockdown, when stand-up was off the table. With no basements or former strip clubs to perform in, I started writing essays and realized that what I’d been trying to do on stage came more easily on the page.

I’d just turned 30 and wanted to document what I’d learned so far, what I was unlearning, and who I wanted to become next.

6 years and 90 essays later, this space has become a record of millennial girlhood, burnout, reinvention, nostalgia, resilience, and the slow work of becoming a louder, more shameless version of myself.

I write about:

  • Becoming more authentic in a world that rewards polish over personhood

  • The leftover emotional residue of 00s girlhood, with all its weird tenderness and comedy

  • What it means to be in your 30s, lose the plot, and question what’s coming next

This is not a newsletter about having it all figured out.

It’s a record of becoming.

If this sounds like you, subscribe, and we’ll ride together.
