BREAKING: “ONLY THE BEST!” A DHS doctor was accused of drinking while armed, seeking fentanyl, and harassing coworkers — Trump just rehired him with a $324,000 salary.

The Trump administration, which claims to be cleaning up government corruption, just quietly rehired a federal doctor who drank beer in a bar while carrying his government firearm, wrote himself an unauthorized narcotics policy to obtain fentanyl lollipops, faces an ongoing sexual harassment investigation with at least 12 complainants, and spent ten months at home on full pay while all of this was being investigated.

Dr. Alexander Eastman is back at the Department of Homeland Security's Office of Health Security, earning $323,933 a year — $78,000 more than Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin makes running the entire department. He is the only DHS employee in history to clear $300,000. His punishment for drinking while armed and improperly procuring narcotics was a seven-day suspension.

Seven days.

DHS insiders are furious. "Eastman's inappropriate behavior and actions appear only to have effectively earned him a 10-month paid vacation and return to full duty," one told investigators. Another said: "Eastman seems to get off on getting away with things after being caught, and always pushing the line, on everything."

The sexual harassment investigation — spanning his time at CBP, the University of Texas Southwestern, and the Dallas Police Department, where he served as a reserve officer — remains open. At least 12 people have filed complaints or described inappropriate behavior. He denies everything.

This is the same administration that froze Medicare enrollments for home health providers to fight fraud. The same administration that is withholding $1.3 billion from California over Medicaid oversight concerns. The same JD Vance who thunders weekly about putting fraudsters in prison.

Eastman was also dispatched to Minneapolis during Operation Metro Surge — the same operation in which federal agents shot and killed two American citizens, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, in January.

While all this was unfolding, Eastman was posting motivational memes on Facebook. One featured Prohibition-era gangster, Al Capone, who was brought down not by his worst crimes but by his taxes.

Given that Trump just gave himself permanent immunity from IRS audits, perhaps Eastman chose that meme wisely.

DHS says it is "committed to upholding the highest standards of professional conduct."

The rehiring of a $324,000 drunk, fentanyl-seeking, harassment-accused doctor says otherwise.
