Over and over social science, despite its limitations, is used to blithely drive policy. This is a bad idea for many reasons, not the least of which is that you risk assuming a cause (and addressing) which is not actually a cause thus making more problems or bringing unintended consequences. Educate yourself on the limits of what social science can say so that your advocacy against such things is more effective.
