Um, yeah, that was jaw-dropping for me too. Canada's population is ~38M. Trudeau's party won only 5.6M votes; the other major party won 5.7M votes. Yet, with our system, Trudeau is seen as our legitimate Prime Minister with dictator-like power. Our democracy is a farce. Not to mention he "bailed out" all the media (except one) with public dollars, so they are all beholden to him and his party and the ruling elite.
