Did you know “mummy brown” paint was actually made from pulverized Egyptian human mummy remains?  

For centuries, and as late as 1964, mummies were used in pigments. I’d always imagined that mummies were rare finds, and always headed for museums. It turns out for a long time, they were easy to acquire.
