Speaking as an immigrant from a world-class rude country—the Ignited States—I find Canada less compassionate and less polite than it was when I arrived nearly 19 years ago. It’s still a great country and I will never move back ‘home’. I fight the left’s illiberalism now just as I once fought toxic conservative far-right ideology in the States.
