Notebooks. Pens of varying thickness. Post-its. Yarn. Coffee thermos. A comfortable outfit. 

Improving oneself was an addiction of sorts, a way to keep you downcast while offering you an umbrella of seemingly simple fixes. But this was different. She was going to really change people. And herself.

“Your life is boring right now, but wait forty years, and it will feel fascinating in retrospect.”

Throwing the book away in disgust, she decided right then and there to stop reading self-help and start writing her own life advice instead. After her second divorce, she was brimming with ideas.
