Our ever-helpful American friend pitched in to help me mulch the brambles on the meadow margins and cut back a few hanging willow branches with his electric chainsaw.
The northern exposure side wasn't that bad, so he simply ran the weedeater under the fence whilst I mulched the southern exposure side, which needs the tractor at least once a year. I also took off some of the bramble patches on the meadow proper, and I can finish that when things aren't quite as soggy. The job was roughly four hours 10-14:00. The electric company trimmed around the power pylon up top a few weeks ago, and didn’t disturb my fence.
I also mucked the paddock in advance of a round hay bale delivery. Then my wife fed us a chili lunch, and we then took the dogs for a long walk. It's always a good time.
The wild boar damage continues. Right now it's not our responsibility, so we'll see what happens to those who are should it spread further into cultivated fields.
