Well Mad Cave’s Maverick’s got me reviewing a press release of all things! At least the preview pages of the advertising OGN are full of wholesome moments thanks to Jem Milton’s brightly expressive artwork. It’s a great complement to Paul Tobin’s humane writing. That alone makes me want to check this out around its release date on December 12. But more importantly, it’s got a great arc going for it. Two friends are pushing themselves forward in their culinary careers, but if they want a chance to succeed in the cutthroat attention economy, they’re going to have to make peace with what drove them apart. The preview shows this perfectly, things are pretty good with one character Layne, but separating from Jiang-Mi was something he regretted because those times were just as good.
