A page from the book Desh Pardesh:The South Asian Presence in Britain
My interpretation and comment on this page is that our decline as a Muslim community, not just in the context of an “Islamic revolution”, but our transmission & adherence of knowledge and Islamic values is being noticed & documented by those outside of our community. It is a sad reality that has been formulated, and we have also somewhat accepted it too.
But it is nihilistic of me to say that this is our sole reality. It is not. As an ummah, we are seeking & transmitting knowledge, we are understanding the world and proposing solutions based on Islam.
Let me know your thoughts (for context this book was written in the 90’s).
