Generative UI is already here. I have questions
Google has started putting generative interfaces inside Gemini. At the same time, projects like A2UI are giving AI agents access to an approved catalog of components. The AI can choose those components and assemble an interface for the task in front of the user.
The AI is beginning to make choices that designers usually make before a product ships. What should appear on the screen? Which component fits the task? How much information does this person need right now?
The designer still creates the system. They define the components, visual language, interaction rules, and limits. But they may not design every final screen.
And this is where I have questions.
How do we teach AI what deserves attention?
How does it understand trust or sales intent?
When it creates a bad experience, who made the design decision?
