Okay. I’m just being honest, y’all. Posting on Substack feels a lot like shouting into the void lately. But I’m going to give this a shot…

My birthday is in 9 days! June the 18th. Because I love all of your beautiful imaginations, I’m inviting you to a writing challenge party. It’s hosted by none other than my side character who accidentally became to important at work and now basically runs all my story worlds: Yelena!

Here’s the skinny on the prompt:

Yelena Ivanova has a funny way of bringing stories to life. Unfortunately, it gets her into trouble. In an attempt to create a masterful anthology for her own Author's birthday, she accidentally loosed characters from multiple different story worlds into OUR world. It's your job to help them find the way back.

For this prompt, you may either use characters from your own worlds who have accidentally broken out into your modern-day, real-life hometown. OR mythological beings (in the vein of It's All Greek to Phil) or classic storybook characters. You have up to 2,000 words to document your character of choice and their adventures in our world, and how you get them back to their story world.
