Almost 20 years ago, I wrote and published the first history of virginity (_Virgin: The Untouched History_, Bloomsbury). At its most basic level, it is a book about patriarchy and how it expresses and perpetuates itself through and on the bodies of girls and women and other not-men. Were I to (re)publish that book today, it would be with an additional chapter on Epstein et al, and Pélicot, and all of this.
