Make money doing the work you believe in

One of the most valuable aspects of this platform is discovering independent researchers doing the heavy lifting on Canadian federal policy and trade.

Today I want to highlight Christopher Sands at US Canada Observer.

He recently published an excellent analysis of the U.S. Trade Representative’s 2026 National Trade Estimate (NTE) report. What makes his work stand out is his breakdown of how the U.S. is shifting toward a radical, tariff-backed "Agreements on Reciprocal Trade" (ARTs) strategy, and how this combative shift will specifically impact Canada during the upcoming USMCA review, particularly regarding digital services and cultural sovereignty.

If you care about rigorous, data-driven political analysis, his work is a must-read.
