Trees are cut, the tree trunks are stripped and taken to the mills. Soon a small army of youngsters will show up with a cloth bag across their front with seedlings, tiny 20 cm tall pine trees. They plant them with a narrow spade, and in 25 years, we will do it all again. Looks brutal, but it is part of the life cycle. Of course, this is not old growth forest, which we must protect, but rather forest that has been cut and replanted several times over the past 100+ years.
