Senseless Murder, and still… hope…
Here's the info about tomorrow morning's Satyam’s call:
Wednesday, July 30 | 6 PM Jerusalem | 4 PM UK | 11 AM ET Day 45 of the Hunger Strike | Community Gathering on Zoom We are heartbroken. Yesterday, in Masafer Yatta, our beloved friend and young non-violent activist Odeh Al Hathaleen (Awdah) was murdered by an extremist settler while defending his land from destruction. His courage and commitment to justice will never be forgotten.
In the midst of this heartbreak, Salem al-Adra, a young activist and community leader from Masafer Yatta, has agreed to speak to us. Salem is the brother of Basel Adra, co-director of the Oscar-winning film No Other Land a documentary that tells the story of their home, and the very villages now under threat. Salem lives this story every day, not behind the camera, but in the fields, the rubble, and the resistance.
Masafer Yatta has endured years of settler violence. It was recently declared a military zone. Nine of the remaining twelve villages are now also marked for demolition. Over 2,000 residents face forced displacement.Join us — to bear witness, to grieve, and to stand in solidarity.Zoom Link:
