The app for independent voices

For our last At-Home day in Lent (well, in the Triduum), we started the process of making flower castings.

And sitting together on Good Friday, pressing these gorgeous spring blooms into clay and then pulling them out - once vibrant, now all dropping and bedraggled - only to reveal this clay image of them…well, it brought a tangible, floral vision of that mysterious day into my hands.

The next step was to fill the mold with plaster of paris - so our final result is a gorgeous cast, lifelike and detailed and lasting, of those original, transient blooms. Such a beautiful movement from Lent to Easter.
