Dear substack writer/artist/creator,

I have no interest in telling you about how to make money with your writing. That’s going to be a highly individualized process with different avenues providing success for different people.

I have no interest in telling you about this platform or how to get tons of followers from it. I’m relatively new to Substack myself and I believe there are tons of people already “decoding” the platform well enough. Plus, you have a working brain and I completely believe in your ability to use it.

What I am interested in is your creative expression. Discovering it, cultivating it, and shepherding it. So many things about having an artistic career are out of your control. The one thing that you can always return to, your home base, is your relationship to your craft.

And I don’t just mean the technical aspects. I mean the living ecosystem that is your connection with your inner artist, your inner critic, and your daily needs. My love for doing this kind of work is highly informed by my career as a narrative therapist and psychiatric nurse practitioner. I’m well versed in caring for and plumbing the depths of the human psyche. And I’m also an artist myself—a writer, a filmmaker, a witchy DIY maker extraordinaire.
