Chuck’s term isn’t up for another four years. I expect he’s hoping the midterm and next presidential elections will go blue, and everyone will forget his complicity in this clusterfuck by then. Who knows how much of the country this regime will have robbed, stolen, or burned by then? Chuck just wants to keep his comfy position of pretend power. He has no interest in making life more bearable for us peasants
