If you want to revel in collective blame as a man, knock yourself out. I wish you wouldn’t but I defend your right to do so. But when you start talking about women’s collective voice and how you must listen to it, at least try to recognise that you are doing the thing you have previously criticised - sticking women in a box and insisting there is a right way to do womanhood. I’d bet anything that your concept of what the legitimate and authentic women’s voices are saying makes me illegitimate and inauthentic.

If you want to respect women, recognise us as individual humans with our own individual brains. Then pick which of us you respect and which you don’t based on the products of those brains. You know, like we are competent adults and not tokens in some collective notion of what women should think and feel.
