I think the hack is to think about it in terms of “shit I want to do” and “how to fund it” and realizing the most effective way of funding it might have little to do with “shit you want to do,” if you are not lucky and immediately get obsessed with something that meets a need of others. Over time, as you build skill and network, it becomes more likely that the shit you want to do becomes a way of paying the bills.
