Just finished an incredibly interesting documentary on the architectural engineering and math that went into building the abbey church of Cluny. (the third one, finished in the 12th century.) It was simply amazing. Nothing else like it in the western world at the time - far exceeding St. Peter’s or Notre Dame or any of the more famous names.
