I’m finding an interesting dichotomy in the argument of the birthright case. The solicitor general yesterday said outright that the world had changed and our framers couldn’t have see this coming. But when liberals make the same argument about modern weaponry in reference to the second amendment, it is immediately disallowed. The hypocrisy is overwhelming and it pokes holes in the idea of the “originalist” interpretation of the constitution.
