Mother and Daughter Lunch 🥰

Today started with Mom's appointment to the GYN post radiation of the rectum due to some side effects and complications in other areas

Afterwards, she wanted to try out this new restaurant in Gainesville called First Watch 😋

We arrived not knowing they closed at 2:30 and it was 2:25 and they welcomed us in just like we were their first customers!

Since all this was discovered, mom basically eats two bites, or if eating soup, 4 tablespoons of anything and she calls that her meal - so she's lost a lot more weight and we need to keep her calorie count up. it's been a battle.

We ordered the two for $12 roast beef with Havarti sandwich and the turkey cranberry kale salad. She said the salad look like something she could eat and she normally does not eat salads, but I knew it would be very healthy for her.

The staff was perfect. The food was not just good but satisfying! You know at the end of the meal sometimes you just feel full? Well this was satisfaction at its finest!

She ate the whole salad and even took a bite of my roast beef with Havarti! then she saw the lemon blueberry cornbread, which if you're from the south, you know the cornbread has got some sugar in it, but this was actually not sweet because of the sugar but because of the blueberries and we ordered that to go.

I spoke with the manager and told him of this experience I was able to have with my mom as a daughter and not as a nurse, and it was so important because we had just come from a healthcare appointment where I had to be the nurse.

Told him how wonderful not only the food was but the staff and even them listening to me when mom had to take a break and it just meant the world to me

I let him know it starts with him because he's the manager and it's especially hard to find people in a college town that work because of football games, etc. He came back and gave me something and appreciated everything that I had to say.
