I remain mystified why social science is dominating this conversation. Well I guess I'm not. Scientists don't have "viewpoints" about things like climate projections or tectonic plate movement or how the body will respond to deep space travel. These kinds of debates are being crowded out by social science and I will keep saying this loudly until the viewpoint diversity crowd understands that higher education is more than opinion and politics. I see Ashley Rubin in her comment talking about astrophysicists and "flat earthers" but I bet she has not actually looked at the real debates astrophysicists are having right now (Hubble tension, dark matter). Easier to spout clichés. Sad.
