Make money doing the work you believe in

I actually think this anti-personal-behavior-change thing is very mistaken and that Leah, Lewis, and animal EA are not taking into account how much they rely on vegans and vegan messaging to be able to do anything they have done.

Leah’s focused on cage-free campaigns, and she finds vegans a nuisance to reaching agreements with factory farming companies. But the acceptance of welfare and standards for animals is not going to be won by voluntary corporate campaigns alone, and it for damn sure won’t be won by discouraging people to take committed personal stands against participating in the exploitation of animals. Vegans provide the customer base for alternative proteins and the protestors to punish companies for breaking commitments.

Leah wants the movement to agree to particular compromise positions for the sake of forward movement. But it’s not going to pay to diminish the value of taking the problem seriously enough not to want to eat the bodies of tortured animals.

Very well put! Completely agree that opposition to factory farming is the unifying message for a big and strong movement.
