The app for independent voices

due to the nature of my assignments i’ve been reading a lot on imperialist and colonial rhetoric framing land and nature as female. it’s interesting as well how the pastoral landscape and female nude came to be in art around the same time, and the compositions paralleled one another. the act of placing both land and women as the passive observational object is something that gillian rose (and other feminist scholars) has written on, but i might compile a piece on it myself once the semester is out. it's interesting to see how misogyny is woven into the very nature of language
