Been thinking a lot about the history of Iran/Persia lately. It’s insane to me that pus cheeto and his clown posse never considered that one of the oldest civilizations on the planet would actually fight them, and fight well. Hello Cyrus the Great? Xerxes?? They’ve been at this for a very, very long time.

Side note: Sometime around 370 AD, the Roman emperor Valerian was taken captive by the Persian king Shapur, made to swallow molten gold, skinned, had his skin stuffed with straw, and was posed as a trophy in the Persian court.

Just thinking about poetic justice and a guy who really loves gold…
