Reply Rules: Your Comment Section Gets a Tiny Bouncer

Substack now has Reply Rules, which means creators can finally put ‘please behave like a person’ into their Community settings with slightly more dignity.

The useful bit: you can write your own standards in your own words. Readers can see them before replying to your posts, notes, or chat, and Substack can automatically hide comments or replies that seem to break them.

Hidden does not mean deleted, so you can still review things, restore them, or remove them properly if needed.

The mildly terrifying bit: the system learns from what you hide, unhide, or delete.

So basically, your comment section now has a tiny apprentice robot bouncer.

Train it wisely. A tiny robot bouncer is still a robot bouncer.
