Make money doing the work you believe in

I'm sorry, Ilyce. You're telling me I might not own the land on which my townhouse sits? So, I have to buy that separately, after 35 years living here? Can the land owner just show up and demand payment? Look, Jubilee sounds like a novel idea, but like any company, they're in business for one reason - to make money. Or can they just swoop in and buy "the land" on which my home sits and come back and bite me on the ass ... whenever? The British model you describe speaks for itself - it gets pricey. What's to stop Jubilee or whoever owns the ground beneath my house to come in and demand that I buy the ground? I didn't read anything here that says they can't do that. In addition, this needs to be made clear to the home buyer at purchase, that they can buy the land right then and there or forever be at Jubilee's prospective mercy. I'm sorry, I don't like it at all and I'll bet I can find a lot of people who would agree. Great article, great interview, but wow, a kick in the head.
