Make money doing the work you believe in
In an internet world of “get ready with me”, “mommaxxing”, botox, facelifts, and self optimization, reading a piece that essentially sums up to “Went out comfortably. Realized I probably looked homeless. Didn’t care though it was curious.” was lovely.
I went out yesterday in a faded tank top, patched baggy cargo pants cinched at the waist with a belt, and nylon canoeing sandals. I was driving my 16yo two door standard Yaris with the peeling paint. I felt very me. I did have pretty earrings on - octopus tentacles made in pottery with pearls.
My yard needs mowing, the paint is peeling off my house, I’ve got scaffolding set up as I slowly paint it, and my garden is knee high with weeds. Huh. I wonder how that looks to others. But I know I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.
