With DeepSeek R1 turning into a true black swan event, many of you will be asking what the security implications are. For me it’s just a continuation of the 6G combat aircraft shock we had over Christmas: China has industrialised innovation and the West is stuck with a competition model that isn’t responding fast enough. We need a lot more info on how exactly a bunch of quants spun this off…knowing the PRC, I cannot see the state being completely arms-length on this one… what do you think?
