𝐵𝑅𝐸 𝐾𝐸𝑁𝑁𝐸𝐷𝑌 on Instagram: “Here is an anti highlight reel for you 🤍 we are in the thick of it 🤍 If falling off a damn high horse this year right after I thought I had everything figured out wasn’t a metaphor… I don’t know what is. January to May I spent on the road touring with @mocaiola @lilymeola @talbottbrothers & @proximity_brewing & when I wasn’t on the road I was over the moon getting to bring my new album to life and couldn’t have felt more aligned and excited. Then - in May as I was out on the @outlawmusicfestival tour with @lilymeola getting to hear @willienelsonofficial every night I found out my grandmother fell, broke her hip and was going into hospice, I fell off an 8 ft tall horse that week & it was as if overnight my priorities changed/ my life shifted and I became a remote caretaker for my grandmother and stepped into a new role within my family while trying to run my business and keep my spirit alive for my art. (Not to mention our collective spirit fighting to believe in something our current world makes feel impossible to do right now). I’ve spent the last few months navigating and learning how to show up for myself and my family, helping my mother as she grieves hers, learning how to rest when I need, how to fall in love with music & this album again and again. How to choose myself again. I became exhausted, sad, scared & hopeless in the grief. I am constantly reminded of the peaks and valleys of my life and that it how we show up in the valleys that matter the most. It’s so scary and no one teaches you how to get through it. But we do always get through to somewhere else. That is the journey of our story. And in every valley of my life - it is me I am looking for. Again and again and again. It is me I am learning how to return to after the storm floats away. My smile, my light, my audacity to show up and believe in something bigger than myself. That’s what my next song I have to share with you is about. It was me I was looking for.
