Shooting street work is exceedingly difficult. It requires recognition, skill, and ability, but for me, editing and sequencing, in the case of a book, are the full-on creative acts. As many of us do, I collect fragments without fully understanding them consciously, but projects like this zine force me to decide what those fragments actually suggest, and more correctly, what feeling or visual context they produce together. I firmly believe there is a subconscious component to this process.
