I'm a big proponent of universal basic income (UBI), a regular, unconditional cash payment to all citizens, regardless of employment status or need.

A well-structured UBI program can help alleviate poverty and reduce inequality without necessarily breaking the bank, as many studies have proven. Analysis across 186 countries shows UBI could boost global GDP by 130%. Thirteen major trials show consistent results: better health outcomes, higher school attendance, more financial stability. Work participation often increases, especially among women and self-employed workers.
