there's an economics concept called opportunity cost , every choice has a shadow cost of everything you DIDN'T choose. economists think about it with money.

but your attention has the same structure. every scroll has a shadow. every notification answered is a thought interrupted that may never return. and unlike money, you can't earn more of it. the budget is fixed.

we obsess over financial literacy. we have almost zero attentional literacy. and one of those resources is actually finite.
