We say we are hungry for God, for his power, for his glory…

but what are you actually doing about that ‘hunger’ you say you have?

I’ve been speaking with certain people who ‘seem’ to have the same burden for more of God. But when you check their lifestyle… I wonder whether they are truly hungry as they claim to be.

When someone is hungry physically, you won’t tell that person to look for food. They’ll do anything and go to any extent just to get what they are looking for.

And many say they are ‘hungry’ yet they rarely fast to dive deeper in God. They don’t go on retreats. They don’t spend long time in God’s presence. They skip church for convenience. They don’t want to get uncomfortable or do things that displease their flesh.

Are you truly hungry as you claim to be? That’s why when people talk or preach about diving deeper in God, I often check their lifestyle. Does your speech match your way of living? Or do you just want to sound deep?

Don’t tell me you’re tired of your situation or you want to be on fire for God, but you aren’t willing to sacrifice anything for Him. Don’t tell me you want God so desperately, but you only fast when people tell you to.

A person who’s truly ‘hungry’ doesn’t need a reminder to fast or pray. They will even get into extreme situations until they find satisfaction.

The next time we say we are ‘hungry for more of God’ let our actions speak louder than our words. Amen?
