I love the Bible, too, but let's remember that this passage (actually, like most all passages), has a CONTEXT, and the prophecy in Deuteronomy 28:43 onward was already fulfilled thousands of years ago.
It's tempting to make ourselves and our era the center of time and the universe, but fast forward to the writings of Paul if you want a much better idea of what's in store in the present and future.
