In a world that often values power over people and teaches us to rush past the needs right in front of us, I am reminded of something simple but deeply human.

When we lose compassion for the person who is struggling, grieving, overwhelmed, unhoused, isolated, facing poverty, food insecure, or simply trying to make it through the day, we lose more than moments to see and acknowledge them. We lose community, a part of ourselves, and a part of our shared humanity.

Because at the end of the day, compassion is not just a feeling. It is how we choose to see people, treat people, and show up for one another in a world that keeps telling us not to.
