Working on putting together my best-of-2025 post and there’s definitely been something going on with dubstep this year; this is probably the most vital and alive it has felt to me since the original implosion of the post-dubstep scene around 2012. And obviously, it never really went fully away, but there definitely was a long stretch where it seemed like the remaining hard core of the scene was just stuck doing rather uninspired attempts at 2006 halfstep over and over again. I guess enough time has passed now where a totally new generation of producers is giving it a shot from a fresh perspective. Some siiiick tunes out there right now!
