Lamentations 1:14 NKJV

“The yoke of my transgressions was bound; They were woven together by His hands, And thrust upon my neck. He made my strength fail; The Lord delivered me into the hands of those whom I am not able to withstand.”

The imagery in this verse stood out to me today. I dont know about you, but if God made a wreath of all my failures and transgressions, all the times I've acted out of pride or selfishness it would be a wreath of epic proportions.

I can't imagine having to carry such a burden.

It wouldn't be a pretty wreath with bows and holly berries.

It would have thorns and not a few of those stickerburs we dread here in Texas.

It would be a lot like the crown Jesus wore when He bore my sins on the cross.

Oh, Beloved, let the joy of that grief wash over you. Take a moment. Sit with it in the midst of your ‘busy’ today.

Because He bore your sins, too.

And, friend, if you're still carrying the burden yourself, today is the day to lay it down. Give it to Jesus. He has already dealt with it. Accept His grace and be free.

"Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed." John 8:36 NKJV

Shalom.
