PSA: Beware, there are popular China-focused substackers who are paid by the US military industrial complex

chinatalk.media is written by Jordan Schneider, who works for the Washington, DC think tank CNAS: cnas.org/people/jordan-…

CNAS' top 5 donors are Northrop Grumman, US State Dept, US War Dept, Northrop Grumman (again), and Lockheed Martin

Responsible Statecraft on CNAS: responsiblestatecraft.o…

  • CNAS "was the single largest recipient of defense contractor money from 2014 to 2019."

  • "CNAS advances the interests of donors in the name of promoting U.S. national security interests. In one instance, the think tank published a paper recommending that the military spend tens of billions on additional purchases of the B-21 bomber — a jet under development by Northrop Grumman, one of the organization’s largest donors."

  • CNAS opposed the U.S. withdrawals from Iraq and Afghanistan, insisting on "withdrawing responsibly".

  • "Their consistent institutional position behind “withdrawing responsibly” is one that could conceivably keep the United States at war for another 20 years." (emphasis added for all points)

Of course, ChinaTalk is careful not to disclose its association with CNAS on Substack: chinatalk.media/about

But ChinaTalk doesn't deny receiving funding from the NED and/or CIA. chinatalk.media/p/parad…

In other words, Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin have paid ChinaTalk to convince you that a Chinese invasion of Taiwan is imminent, when in fact overwhelming evidence indicates that it will not happen at all.
