Everyone says vibe coding is the future of building for non-engineers.

I keep waiting to experience that.

Instead I find myself thinking about when I learned Python in the 2010s to build my own website. I figured it out.

But I still hired someone to do it anyway, because they were faster, better, and my time was worth more than the hours I'd spend making it perfect.

Either I'm missing something.

Or knowing how to do something and deciding to do it yourself are two very different things.
