Wood thrushes are especially active during crepuscular periods of the day (dawn and dusk). They need healthy forest habitat to thrive, including a mature canopy, a developed understory of shrubs and herbaceous plants for nesting, and leaf litter for foraging the invertebrates that make up much of their diet.
